The Keeper Winch Safety Blanket is recommended when operating an electric winch with wire rope . The blanket helps prevent rope recoil in the event of a rope failure. The blank will help the rope fall to the ground and absorb most of the kinetic energy should it occur. The blanket should be positioned around the mid-point of the rope and secured with the velcro strips near the top.
